Rate of Patients Who Experience a Fall Within the ASC
A fall for a patient immediately before or after surgery is rare, and an indication of poor quality care. Reasons for a fall during pre- and post-procedural care include cluttered pathways, equipment malfunctions, and failure to assist the patient with activities after sedation. This measure assesses whether the surgery center has any patients experience a fall during the reporting period.
