Rate of Patients Who Experience a Burn Prior to Discharge from the ASC
A burn during a surgery is rare, and an indication of poor quality care. Reasons for a burn during surgery include electric burns from cauterizing tools, and accidental ignition from misuse of patient warming devices. This measure assesses whether the surgery center has any patients experience a burn during the reporting period.
