Tracking and reporting infections

Infections following surgical procedures in ambulatory surgery centers can occur. This measure assesses a surgery center's participation in the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network - Outpatient Procedure Component, which tracks surgical site infections following breast surgery, hernia repairs, knee surgery, and spine surgery.

Reporting Period 

• Surveys submitted prior to September 1: 01/01/2025 - 12/31/2025
• Surveys (re)submitted on or after September 1: 07/01/2025 - 06/30/2026

Patients Included in the Measure

• Outpatients (Patients who are admitted and discharged on the same day)
• Adults
