Orthopedic (Bones and Joints)
Surgery centers report annual procedure volume for orthopedic (bones and joints) procedures including:
- Finger, Hand, Wrist, Forearm, and Elbow Procedures
- General Orthopedic Procedures
- Hip Procedures
- Knee Procedures
- Shoulder Procedures
- Spine Procedures
- Toe, Foot, Ankle, and Leg Procedures
Experts agree that patients often have better outcomes when their procedure is performed by a surgeon and surgical teams with adequate, ongoing experience performing a particular procedure. However, Leapfrog has not yet established minimum surgery center or surgeon volume standards.
