Radiation Dose for Abdomen/Pelvis Scans
Because radiation used for Computed Tomography (CT) is far higher than conventional radiographs (x-rays), it is important for hospitals to monitor their dosage when scanning children given their smaller size and lower body weights. Hospitals report their doses for routine abdomen/pelvis CT scans.
